Get Your Hungarian Driving Licence in English – Fast, Simple & Professional

With a Category B driving licence, you can drive:

A car that weighs no more than 3,500 kg (maximum total weight allowed by law).

The car can have up to 8 passengers, plus the driver.

You can also pull a trailer with the car, as long as the total weight of the car and trailer follows the rules set in Hungarian traffic laws.

For your first theory exam, you must prove that you have completed at least primary school (or a higher level of education), as required by Hungarian law.

Bring your school certificate (primary or higher education) to the exam centre and show it before the test starts.

If you do not show your certificate, you will not be allowed to take the next exam until you provide proof of your education.

If your certificate is not in Hungarian, you must also bring an official Hungarian translation.

To apply for a driving course, you must have:

  • A valid identity document and address card
  • At least primary education
  • A valid Hungarian medical certificate

Not required if you already have a valid driving licence with medical validity

  • Be at least 16 years and 6 months old

How to Get Your Driving Licence – Quick Guide

Start Your Course by Fill the application form
After applying and paying the theoretical training fee, within 1 business day, you will get the access to the online e-learning course.

 

Send Required Documents
Copies of:

Your driving licence (if you have one)

Medical certificate

 

Complete the Course
After finishing the online course and submitting your documents, request your course completion certificate in e-Titán and send it to the dricing school. This confirms to the Ministry that you are ready for the official theory exam.

 

Register for the Exam
Book your exam in e-Titán under the “Exam” menu.

The date you select is provisional; the exam centre will confirm the final date.

Pay the exam fee online via card or bank transfer.

You will receive your final exam date, time, and location in e-Titán and by e-mail.

 

Take the theory exam (English)

 

Get the driving instructor contact from the dricóving school and begin practical driving lessons (manual / automatic)

 

You can schedule driving lessons directly with your instructor.

Your instructor will record each lesson on a driving card.

At the beginning and end of every lesson, you must sign the driving card to confirm that the details of the lesson (time and kilometers driven) are correct.

This process ensures that we can prove to the authorities you have met the requirements for the practical exam, including completing the necessary number of driving hours (29 lessons) and kilometersí (minimum 580 Km).

First Aid Exam

To receive your driving licence at the Government Office (Okmányiroda), you must pass a First Aid exam.

 

You may take this exam at any time during your training, even before the practical test.
